# Quoth brand guide

Quoth is private voice dictation for Linux. Press a key, speak, and your words
appear in the focused window. Transcription runs on the user's computer.

## Marks

- Bone (`#F2F0EA`) and Ink (`#08080A`) are the primary brand colours. Use the
Bone mark or wordmark on dark backgrounds and the Ink version on light
backgrounds. White (`#FFFFFF`) and Black (`#000000`) are supplied as
  high-contrast alternatives.
- Keep the supplied shape and proportions. Do not stretch, crop, rotate, redraw,
add effects, or place either mark where it loses contrast.
- Use the wordmark when the product name needs to be explicit. Use the app icon
for square product listings and launcher-style placements.
- Do not use the assets in a way that implies Quoth endorses another product,
  organisation, publication, or event.

Each mark and wordmark colour is supplied as SVG and transparent PNG. Mark PNGs
are 2048×2048; wordmark PNGs are 2995×896. `quoth-wordmark.svg` is a legacy
alias of `quoth-wordmark-ink.svg` for existing links.

## Colour

The exact palette names, descriptions, six unique colours, and palette membership
are in `palettes.json`.

## Product visuals

`quoth-pill.mp4` and `quoth-orb.mp4` are fresh 15-second captures of the current
production Pill and Orb renderers on a neutral dark stage, with matching PNG
posters. They were captured on 23 October 2026 through GTK Broadway and a
browser. Their levels and state changes are scripted, and the files contain no
audio. They are not recordings of microphone input or measurements of
transcription accuracy, latency, or performance.

The 12 PNGs in `screenshots/` are current captures of Settings, About Quoth, and
the complete capability-aware first-run flow. Their capture conditions and page
coverage are recorded in `screenshots/README.md`.

`brand-animations/` contains approved loop and unfold motion in the four static
logo colours, plus MP4 previews and PNG posters. Preserve the supplied timing,
proportions, and colours.

The files in `brand-artwork/` are supplied press compositions: a 1920×1080
title graphic, a matching 1920×1080 clean background, and a 1584×396 wide
banner. Preserve their original proportions and do not crop away the Quoth mark
or text.
